Recipe for Life

Having family and friends close to you is the only way to succeed in life.  No job or earthly thing can give you the motivation and support to be creative and try new things.  God gave me the talent to bake and create and my family and friends is the best support structure I can ever ask for.  The people in these photos are my brothers and sisters in law.  I love all of them and we have all been through tough times.  My motto for my perfect life recipe is to never never never give up. That was one of the last sayings my mom shared with me.  Chase your dreams and make them your reality! 

Wedding Cake 6 August 2010

On the 6th of August two of my best friends got married. Although Jolene & Ian have now been married for more than a year I decided to still add their wedding cake to the blog.  May you have an eternity of happy moments and great memories.  Love you both!

For their wedding cake they decided to have individual portions of cake.  Every individual unit was a square piece of chocolate cake, soaked with black tea.  The cake was boxed in with chocolate sides and then filled with chocolate mousse.  Every piece was then topped with an Amarula truffle.  It was very time consuming to create the individual pieces, but in the end one of my best creations yet.

After baking up a storm in my kitchen again this weekend and delivering a wedding cake I decided to finally start with my blog.  I bake and create in my small kitchen as a hobby and now I also want to share my creations with everyone out there.  Most people enjoy a cup of coffee and something sweet.  I appreciate everyone who supports me and always encourage me to try out new and interesting things.

My biggest thanks goes to my 2 grandmothers and my parents who tought me the basics of food and also enjoying my time in the kitchen.
